Spreading the Midwifery model of care locally and globally
Nicole Marie White is a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) and activist. Nicole believes that spreading the Midwifery Model of Care is the best way to address the high maternal and infant mortality rates locally and globally. She currently practices midwifery in Michigan and is on the Board of licensed Midwifery for the State of Michigan. Nicole has been involved in National and State leadership around midwifery policy. Nicole received a fellowship In 2012 in Detroit to work on fighting the maternal Mortality crisis in the city. She was a member of the National Equity task force and Access and Equity division. She was a member of the Dignity birth campaign and has presented at International confederation of Midwives and other national conferences. Nicole is currently a BELA leader and participating in Detroit Pop-up Midwifery Clinic which is funded by Health connect one. She is on the development team of Birth Detroit. Nicole is currently attending Wayne State for a degree in Public Health. She was in an almost all girl band, The blue Ruby’s for 3 years. Nicole loves to dance and hunt rocks on the shores of Lake Michigan with her dog, Sappho.
